2. Applying for SASSA Social Grants

Log in to your SASSA account using your unique username and password. Navigate to “Social Grant Options” and select the specific grant you wish to apply for. Complete the grant application form meticulously, ensuring all required information is accurately provided. Print the SASSA-generated affidavit and get it certified by a commissioner of oaths. 3. Processing and Notification

SASSA may take up to 3 months to process your online grant application. If approved, you will receive payments from the date of your application. To ascertain your funds’ exact payday, refer to the latest SASSA Payment Dates. In case your application is unsuccessful, SASSA will communicate this in writing. If you disagree with the decision, you have the option to appeal within 90 days of the notification. Appeals should be submitted to the Minister of Social Development at the national office of the Department of Social Development.
